While I have been taking notes about everything all my life it took me a long time to come up with a system that works for me.
But I want to go a step further and put what I want, where I want, somewhere I’m sure to look later and get the ideas moving.
What I do now is to use a shortcut on iOS that became the entry point for all my ideas. What this shortcut does is pretty simple but it’s very much tailored to what I do so I created a simplified version to share here so you feel free to expand it to do whatever you want.

And here are other steps that I have integrated into the version I use:
- Each time I run this shortcut the clipboard data is saved to Data Jar.
- Create a new task on my Jira project.
- Save to a work note.
- Display history of my notes.
- Delete from history.
